Laughing Coyote Project
4 Days
(Includes Optional Arrow Making)
You've been asking for more remote workshops, and we're listening! We've teamed up with the Laughing Coyote Project - a 501(c)3 Organization - to bring you a bowmaking immersion in picturesque Boulder County, Colorado. Build a start-to-finish primitive longbow and wooden arrows in this 4-day deep dive held at the Laughing Coyote's beautiful farm in Longmont.
~This course is open to both solo adults and parent/child teams!
~For the price of one admission, you can either attend by yourself, or you and your kiddo can work on the same bow together!
~Due to the intensive nature of the course, adults should expect to do much of the legwork; and your teammate must be at least 10 years old.
You'll learn to craft a powerful, smooth shooting whitewood longbow and (optional) wooden arrows using only simple hand tools. This course is accessible to all skill levels. You don’t need prior archery or woodworking experience, but must be teachable and willing to follow instructions.
Each bow will be crafted to your personal draw length and desired draw weight. You’ll be challenged to navigate the character (imperfections) in the wood with guidance from a Master Bowyer. The small group size leaves plenty of time open for Q&A.
Take years of trial and error off the learning curve with focused individual instruction. The workshop closes with lessons on the fundamentals of longbow marksmanship with your new bow and arrows.
Accommodations :
Bow making materials and tools are provided. One hearty lunch per day and snacks/coffee are provided.
Breakfasts and dinners are NOT provided.
